So,

2x + 2y = 120                   ......................(1)

Total no. of legs = 120

2x + 4y = 180                   ......................(2)

Solving,(1)and(2)

we will get,

x = 30 and,

y = 30

Therefore,there are 30 hens and 30 buffaloes
