A man wishes to lay square tiles on the floor of a room measuring 48m by 40m. What is
the largest size of the square tile that can be laid so that a whole number of tiles fit in.

take the LCM of 48&40 
the LCM is 8 
therefore the largest size of square tile that can be laid ic 8m
