A man with 60kg running with a velocity of 6m/s,jumps into a car of mass 90kg standing on the rails and stops there. Find velocity with which the car will start travelling along the rail.

According to the conservation of Momentum
Mu1 + mu2= Mv1+mv2
mass of man and car will be combined and both will move with the same speed v
60×6 + 90×0 = 60v +90v
240 = 150v
v = 240/150
v = 8/5
v = 1.6 m/s
