A mans monthly salary is 12000. His wife's monthly salary is 20 percent less than his. Find their total monthly income.

Man's salary = 12 000

Wife's salary = 12 000 - 12 000 x \frac{20}{100}%

                     = 12 000 - 2400

                    = 9 600

Therefore Total monthly income of both

 = 12 000 + 9 600

 = 21 600
