A manufacturer in Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) listed the price of his goods at Rs.160 per article. He allowed a
discount of 25 % to a wholesaler in Pune (Maharashtra) who in turn allowed a discount of 20% on the listed price
to a retailer in Nasik (Maharashtra) . The rate of sales tax on the goods is 5%. If the retailer sells the article to a
consumer in Nasik at a discount of 5% on the listed price, then find (i) the GST paid by the wholesaler (ii) the SGST
paid by the retailer (iii) the out put tax of consumer (iv) net GST paid by the retailer.

Answer:

MRP = Rs. 12,000, Discount % = 30%, GST = 18%

Discount = 30% of 12,000 =

Selling price (discounted value) = 12000 - 3600 = Rs. 8400

CGST = 9% of 8400 = Rs. 756

SGST = 9% of 8400 = Rs. 756

IGST = 0

Amount of Bill = Selling price + CGST + SGST = 8400 + 756 + 756 = Rs. 9912
