Answer:

(i) the production in the first year  = 550 sets

(ii) the production in the 10th year  = 775 sets

(iii) the total production in first 7 years. = 4,375 sets

Step-by-step explanation:

TV sets produced in the third year  = 600

TV sets produced in the seventh year = 700

Assuming the production increases  uniformly by a fixed number every year,

find :

  • difference between third year and seventh year = 7 - 3 = 4 years
  • difference in product between third year and seventh year = 700 - 600 = 100
  • in 4 yaers ->100 sets were produced more
  • In 1 year --> 100/4 = 25 sets were produced more

Year 1 = 575 - 25 = 550 sets

Year 2 = 600-25 = 575 sets

Year 3 = 600 sets

Year 4 = 600 + 25 = 625 sets

Year 5 = 625 + 25 = 650 sets

Year 6 = 650 + 25 = 675 sets

Year 7 = 700 sets

Year 8 = 700 + 25 = 725 sets

Year 9 = 725 + 25 = 750 sets

Year 10 = 750 + 25 = 775 sets

(i) the production in the first year  = 550 sets

(ii) the production in the 10th year  = 775 sets

(iii) the total production in first 7 years. = (550*7) + 25 (0+1+2+3+4+5+6) = 3850 + 525 = 4375
