Given :

A manufacturer sells three products A, B, C. Product A costs 200 and is sold tor 260 Product B costs 150 and is sold for 180. Product C costs 100 and is sold for 140.

To find :

Which product should be manufactured more in order to have a maximum profit percentage?

Solution :

Finding Profit % of Product "A" -

CP = 200 SP = 260

Profit = SP - CP = 260 - 200 = 60

Profit % = Profit/CP x 100

= 60/200 x 100 = 30 %.

Profit % of Product "A" = 30 %

____________________________

Finding Profit % of Product "B" -

CP = 150. SP = 180

Profit = SP - CP = 180 - 150 = 30

Profit % = Profit / CP x 100

= 30/150 x 100 = 20 %

Profit % of Product "B" = 20 %

____________________________

Finding Profit % of Product "C" -

CP = 100. SP = 140

Profit = SP - CP = 140 - 100 = 40

Profit % = Profit / CP x 100

= 40/100 x 100 = 40 %

Profit % of Product "C" = 40 %.

Hence: Product 'C' should be manufactured more in order to have a maximum profit percentage.
