The loss to the manufacturer is Rs.13,000.

Step-by-step explanation:

Total number of component = 2000.

If 5 % fail to pass the quality tests,

Number of non-deffective component is given by,

n=2000 - 5\% \text{ of } 2000

n=2000 - 0.05\times 2000

n=2000 - 100

n=1900

Particular component at Rs.25 per piece.

Selling price of 1900 component is

SP=1900\times 25 = 47500

This content 25% profit of the manufacturer.

Let total manufacturing price of the component be 'x'.

According to question,

x+ 25\% \text{ of } x= 47500

x+0.25x= 47500

1.25x= 47500

x=\frac{47500}{1.25}

x=38000

The cost price is Rs.38000.

50% of components were rejected.

If 50 component i.e. 1000 components are defective. then

Total collection SP= 25\times 1000 = 25000

The selling price is Rs.25000.

The loss is given by,

Loss = SP-CP

Loss = 38000 - 25000

Loss = Rs.13,000

Therefore, the loss to the manufacturer is Rs.13,000.
