A map is drawn to a scale of 1:3000 two points on the map are 9.5cm apart what is the actual distance between the points?

The scale being 1:40000, 1 cm on the map represents 40000 cm on the ground. Therefore, the points which are 6.5 cm on the map are 6.5*40000 = 260000 cm or 2600 m or 2.6 km on the ground terrain.
