Step-by-step explanation:

The scale of a map is given.

This basically means that 5 cm in a map correspond to 200 km in actual world. In other words, distance between two places on map which are 5 cm apart are actually 200 km apart in real world.

now,

25 cm = 5 × ( 5 cm )

~ 5 × ( 200 km)

~ 1000 km

notice i haven't put the '=' sign. Because the units were different on both sides.

~ : approximation sign.

so, 25 cm is a good approximation of 1000 km.

hence,

two places on map which are 25 cm apart can be exactly or very close to 1000 km apart in real life.

* we are still making a concrete guess. But you get a pretty good idea about the distances

Answer:

1000 kms.

Step-by-step explanation:

(1) If 5cm = 200 km, then 1cm = 200/5 kms. i.e. 40 kms.

(2) Then 25 cm = 40*25 i.e. 1000kms.
