a map with a scale of 1:25,000 is reduced to 1:75,000. how's many times is the scale reduced?

Answer: The scale is just expressed 1:200000 (no km). That means that things in the map are 200,000 times smaller than in real life, or, in other words, one centimeter in the map equals 200,000 cm in real life. To convert to meters we just take out two zeros: 1 cm = 2,000 m. And to convert to km we just take three more zeros: 1cm = 2km.
