Answer:

The No. of days to repair the remaining track is 5 days.

Given:

A mason can repair a 744m long track in 24 days.

To find:

If he repairs 589m track, then find how many days will he take to repair the remaining track

Solution : The length of track repaired in one day = \frac{744}{24}

= 31 m

The remaining track length = 744 – 589 = 155

Hence the no of days required =\frac{155}{31}  =  5 days

Result:

The No. of days to repair the remaining track is 5 days.
