Given,

mass:10kg,height:50cm=0.5m

Find,

velocity of body,kinetic energy of body when reaches ground level

Solution,

  • as the body dropped from height,when it reaches the ground level,all the potential energy converted to kinetic energy.
  • potential energy=mass×g×height

=10×10×0.5(taking g as 10m/s²)

=50joules

So kinetic energy=50joules

we also know the formula of kinetic energy:1/2mv²=50joules

v²=10

v=3.16m/s

velocity does not depend upon mass of the particle because the acceleration due to gravity does not depend on mass

so the answer is a)3.16m/s b)50J
