The formula most commonly used is: m multiplied by AuG

m = mass (in Kg).

AuG = Acceleration of Gravity (in metres per second (m/s^2)).

The acceleration of gravity at sea level on the earth is said to be 9.81 m/s^2.

Because we already have the amount of Newton’s this objects exerts, we can work backwards to find the objects mass considering we need the mass of the object in order to find the Newton’s it exerts on

To find the mass we need to divide the Newton’s by the AoG.

20/9.81 = 2.04 Kg

Next, we must know the acceleration of gravity on the moon. Luckily, we know what it is. It is about 1.62 m/s^2

We take the objects mass and multiply it by the acceleration of gravity on the moon and presto!

2.04 x 1.62 = 3.31 N

This object, which exerts 20N on earth, instead exerts a mere 3.31N on the moon.
