A mass of 2 kg is suspended with thread AB . Thread CD of the same type is attached to the other end of 2 kg mass. Lower thread is pulled gradually, harder and harder in the downward direction so as to apply force on AB. Which of the threads will break and why?

Upper string should break first because you can see that for thread CD there are only two force acting on the string one is the force applied to break the string other is the weight of the mass hung by CD string...
But when it comes to string AB there are three forces acting two are the weight of masses and the other us force applied so....
