Materials that resist the flow of electric current through them is called as an insulator. Some common examples of insulators are Wood, Plastic, Glass, Bricks etc. some might think resistors would be the correct answer.
But the difference between the resistor and insulator is insulator completely resist the flow of current through them while resistors allows us to put a controlled amount of current though the circuit by providing controlled resistance. Conductors have low resistance while insulators have high resistance.
