A measuring cylinder contains 40 ml water. When a stone of mass 50g is lowered into the measuring cylinder, the water level rises to 60 ml. What is the density of the stone?

Initial level F¹ = 40 ml(cm³)

Final level F² = 60 ml(cm³)

Volume= F²-F¹

= (60-40) ml

= 20 ml

Density = M/v

= 50 g/20 cm³

= 50/20 g/cm³

= 2.5 g/cm³
