A measuring cylinder contains water up to the 36ml mark. When a stone is immersed in it, the water level rises up to 64ml. If the mass of the stone is 40g, find the density of the stone.

  • Mass=40g
  • Volume=64ml-36ml=28ml

We know

\boxed{\sf Density=\dfrac{Mass}{Volume}}

\\ \rm\longmapsto Density=\dfrac{40}{28}

\\ \rm\longmapsto Density=\dfrac{10}{7}

\\ \rm\longmapsto Density=1.4g/ml
