.A measuring cylinder contains water upto the 36ml mark.When a stone is immersed in it,the water level rises upto 64ml.If the mass of the stone is 40g,find the density of stone.

Given:

V1 = 35 ml

V2 = 64 ml

M = 40 g

Solution:

V = V2-V1

= 64 - 35

= 29 ml

Density of stone = M/V

= 40/29

= 1.37 g/ml
