radius of cylinder = 7/2 cm......= 3.5 cm
height of cylinder = total height of capsule - 2× radius of hemispherical ends
= 19-7 = 12 cm.....
volume of capsule = volume of cylindrical portion + 2 × volume of hemispherical ends

=πr^2h+2×2/3πr^3
=22/7×3.5×3.5×12 + 2×2/3×22/7×3.3×3.5×3.5

= 462 + 539
1001 cm ^3 ...... .

Given:-

  • The total height of the capsule is 19cm
  • The diameter of the cylinder is 7cm.

To find:-

  • Find the volume of the capsule..?

Solutions:-

  • Diameter of the cylinder = 7cm
  • Radius of the cylinder = 7/2cm
  • Total height of capsule = 19cm

Height of the cylinder = Total height - Radius of one hemisphere + another hemisphere

=> (19 - 3.5 + 3.5)

=> 19 - 7

=> 12cm

  • Volume of the cylinder = πr²h
  • Volume of the hemisphere = 4/3 πr³

=> πr²h + 4/3 πr³ + 4/3 πr³

=> πr²(h + 4/3 r)

=> π × (7/2)² × (12 + 4/3 × 7/2)

=> π × 49/4 × (12 + 28/6)

=> π × 49/4 × (72 + 28/6)

=> π × 49/4 × 100/6

=> π × 4900/24

=> 204.17π cm³

Hence, the volume of the capsule is 204.17π cm³.
