Correct option is ( B ) 8.944 km, North-East

The movements of Kishen are as shown in Fig. (Ato B, B to C and C to D).

AC=(AB−BC)=(10−2)km=8km. clearly, D is to the North-East of A.

∴ Kishen's distance from starting point

A=AD= (AC )^2 + (CD)^2 =8^2 +4^2 = ✓80

= 8.944km

So, Kishen is 5 km to the North-East of his starting point
