a) Excretory Organs. Organs of excretion include the skin, liver, large intestine, lungs, and kidneys (see the figure below). Together, these organs make up the excretory system. They all excrete wastes, but they don't work together in the same way that organs do in most other body systems.

b) The diaphragm, located below the lungs, is the major muscle of respiration. It is a large, dome-shaped muscle that contracts rhythmically and continually, and most of the time, involuntarily. Upon inhalation, the diaphragm contracts and flattens and the chest cavity enlarges.

c) A soil horizon is a layer parallel to the soil surface whose physical, chemical and biological characteristics differ from the layers above and beneath. Horizons are defined in many cases by obvious physical features, mainly colour and texture.
