The exchange site of material of blood cells to the surrounding cells are the smallest blood vessels which cell walls are one cell thick. This is called capillaries.

By Crossing blood capillary's thin wall the exchange of materials between the blood cells and the surrounding cells happens.

With the help of this procedure body cells get their requirements of nutrients.
