A merchant buys two tables for Rs. 600 each. He sells one at a profit of 10% and the other at a loss of 12%. Find his overall profit or loss per cent 11. .Evaluate the following using suitable identity:​

Since, one table is sold at a profit of 10%,

the amount he got by selling the table is,

600×10/100 = 60

hence, the total amount is, 600 + 60 = 660/-

[since, it's profit, we add them]

another table is sold at a loss of 12%,

the amount he got is,

600×12/100 = 72

hence, the total amount is, 600 - 72 = 528/-

[since it's loss, we subtract them]
