Given:

Cost of each fan is ₹1200.

To find:

How much money is left with the merchant?

Solution:

1) The merchant had ₹ 80290 with him

2) Merchant has purchased 50 ceiling fans @ ₹1200

So the total cost of the fan is

  • 50×1200
  • 60000

Money left with merchant is

  • ₹80290 - ₹60000
  • ₹20290

Money left with the merchant is ₹20290.

Step-by-step explanation:

Cost of one radio set = Rs. 1200

Therefore, cost of 40 radio sets = Rs. 1200 × 40 = Rs. 48,000

Total amount with the merchant = Rs. 78,592

Amount spent to purchase 40 radios = Rs. 48,000

Remaining amount after purchase = Total amount - Amount spent

= Rs. (78,592 – 48,000)

= Rs. 30,592
