let part of sugar sold at 18% profit = x
part of sugar at 8% profit = 1000-x
profit on 18% = 18/100*x
= 0.18x
profit on 8% = 8/100*1000-x
= 80-x
according to question
0.18x+80-x=14/100*1000
0.18x+80-x=140
0.18x-x=140-80
0.82x=60
x=60/0.82
6000/82
3000/41
