A merchant has 105L of oil of one kind and 140L of another and 175L of the third one. He wants to sell the oil by filling the 3 kinds of oils in containers of equal capacity. What should be the greatest capacity of such a container?

Since measuring capacity is smaller than 105,140,175  

Maximum measuring capacity=HCF of 105,140,175

Factors of 175=5*35

So,HCF=35

∴ Maximum measuring capacity=35 litres
