A merchant on selling rice earns a profit of 10 per
bag of basmati rice sold and a loss of 5 per bag of
non-basmati rice.
(1) He sells 3,000 bags of basmati rice and 5,000
bags of non-basmati rice in a month. What is his
profit or loss in a month?
(2) What is the number of basmati rice bags he must sell to have neither profit nor loss, if
the number of bags of non-basmati rice sold is 6,400.

Answer:

1 ) so he gains 30000 and losses 25000

so in total he gains 5000 rs

2) For neither loss nor profit he has to to sell one basmati rice bag for 2 non basmati bags

he sold 6400 non basmati bags so he has to sell half that is 3200 basmati bags
