The loss percentage is approximately 33.3%.

Given data :

Purchasing price of 10 metres of cloth = Selling price of 30 metres of cloth

• Let,the purchasing price of one metre cloth = ₹x (assume x as a variable to calculate the profit or loss amount)

• So,the purchasing price of 10 metre cloth = 10×x = ₹ 10x

• So,the selling price of 30 metre cloth = ₹ 10x

• Selling price of 1 metre cloth = 10x/30 = ₹ x/3

Now,the selling price is less than the purchasing price,so the deal will be a loss deal.

• Loss percentage = 100× x/3/x = 100×x/3 × 1/x = 33.3% (answer)
