The merchant can recover or can't recover the amount.

As per Indian Contract Act, 1872, an agreement with any minor is null and void. According to section 68 of the Indian contract Act, for taking necessary supplies like food, clothing, marriage of female etc, a minor is not personally liable but the property of minor can be made liable in case of necessaries supplied to him. So this clearly shows merchant can recover or can not recover the amount. If the minor have property, the merchant can recover the amount and if haven't, he can not recover the same.
