m=5kg

h=490m

u=0

a=9.8m/s2

S=ur+1/2at2

490 = 1 \div 2 \times 9.8x {2}

490=4.9x2

x2=490/4.9

t2=100

t=10sec

Hey mate, here is your answer :-

The ball will take 10 seconds to reach the ground.

Step - by - step explanation :-

Given :

1 . \: h = s = 490 \: m \\  2. \: g = 9.8 \:  \frac{m}{ {s}^{2} }  \\  \\ to \: find \:  (t) = ....... \\  \\ solution \:  \\ according \: to \: newtons \: second \: equation \: for \: free \: fall \\ s =  \frac{1}{2} g {t}^{2}  \\ 2s = g {t}^{2}  \\  \frac{2s}{g}  =  {t}^{2}  \\  \sqrt{ \frac{2s}{g} }  = t \\ t =  \sqrt{ \frac{2s}{g} }  \\ t =  \sqrt{ \frac{2 \times 490}{9.8} }  \\ t =  \sqrt{ \frac{2 \times 4900}{98 } }  \\ t =  \sqrt{ \frac{2 \times 700}{14} }  \\ t =  \sqrt{ \frac{700}{7} }  \\ t =  \sqrt{100}  \\ t = 10 \:  \:seconds

Hope it helps.
