m = 10 kg

v = 5 m/s

μ = 0.4


# Solution-

Frictional force is calculated by-

F = μN = μmg

F = 0.4 × 10 × 10

F = 40 N


Rate of generation of heat is calculated by-

dW/dt = d(F.s)/dt

dW/dt = F.ds/dt

dW/dt = F.v

dW/dt = 40 × 5

dW/dt = 200 J/s


Therefore, rate of generation of heat is 200 J/s.
