While the body is being dragged, friction opposes

the relative motion and does work against this movement. This work done by friction generates heat.

Rate at which heat is generated = Work done by friction / time

So Rate R = Force of friction × (displacement/time)

= cmg × v

= 0.5×10×10×5 = 250 J/s

Rate at which heat is generated = 250J/s
