A metal bolt with a mass of 8.50×10^-2 kg And a temperature of 85.0 Celsius is placed in a container of water the mass of the water is 0.150 KG and its temperature is 25.0 Celsius what is the specific heat capacity of the boat if the final temperature of the bowl and water is 28.4 Celsius

Answer:The water temperature rises from 25*C to 28.4*C, thats 3.4*C so the heat absorbed is

mass x change in temp x shc

= 0.150 x 3.4 x 4186

=2134.86J

Now the bolt release the same energy

So mass x change in temp x shc = 2134.86J

0.085 x (85-28.4) x shc

So

shc = 2134.86 / (0.085 * 56.6)

= 443 J/KgC
