Answer:

Tension = 3.84N

Explanation:

since ' a ' = 0

=> F net external = 0

=> weight of cube = tension + upthrust

weight = mg

460g = 46/100 kg

=> weight = 46g/100 N

volume = mass / density

density = 2.7 g/cm^3 = 2700 kg/m^3

=> volume of cube = 46/270000 m^3

ATQ;

volume of solid submerged = 1/2 x 46/270000 m^3

Upthrust = volume of solid submerged x density of liquid x g

=> U = 1/2 x 46/270000 x 800 x g

=> U = 184g/2700 N

Tension = 46g/100 - 184g/2700

= 1058g/2700

Taking g as 9.8 m/s^2

Tension = 1058*9.8/2700

= 3.84 newtons ( approx.)
