Given :

A metal has a density of 8.0g/cm cube a solid cube of mass 1.0kg is made from this metal

  • Density of metal = 8 g/cm
  • Mass of a cube solid = 1kg

As we know that

Density = Mass × volume

Where density is denoted by D, mass is denoted by M and Volume is denoted by V

And, 1kg = 1000gm

Let's apply formula and solve the question

→ D = M × V

→ 8 = 1000 × V

→ V = 8/1000 cm³

Now we have to find out side of a solid cube. So, volume of a cube is a³ where a is side

→ V = a³

→ 8/1000 = a³

→ a = ³√8/1000

→ a = 2/10

→ a = 0.2 cm

Hence, each side of a cube is 0.2 cm

Answer:

Given :-

  • A metal has a density of 8.0g/cm cube a solid cube of mass 1.0kg is made.

To Find :-

  • How long metal is each side of the cube?

Solution :-

Volume :-

\red{ \boxed{\sf{Volume =\: \dfrac{Density}{Mass}}}}

We have :

  • Density = 8.0 g/cm
  • Mass = 1000 g

➔ Volume = 8.0/1000

Volume = 0.008 cm³

Each side of the cube :-

We have :

  • Volume = 0.008 cm³

\red{ \boxed{\sf{Volume = (Side)^3}}}

➙ 0.008 = (Side)³

➙ ∛0.008 = Side

➙ 0.2 = Side

Henceforth, the long metal is each side of the cube is 0.2 cm .
