A metal is treated with dilutes sulphuric acid. The gas evolved is collected by the method shown in the figure:

b. No, Hydrogen isn't soluble in water.

c. You can test for hydrogen gas by putting a burning splinter near the gas. The splinter will gives out a 'pop' sound (mini explosion) if it is hydrogen gas.

d. Yes, Hydrogen gas is lighter than air.

e. Zn + H2SO4 ---> ZnSO4 + H2

f. One industrial use of Hydrogen is the use of liquid hydrogen as an alternate source of energy.
