Hydrogen can only displace those metals which are below it in reactivity series such as Copper.

Thus it can reduce their oxides.

REACTION :

CuO + H2 ---------> Cu + H20

Hey friend,

Here's your answer,

Metals have a property that they are highly oxidized. When zinc oxide is heated then Zinc gets removed from the oxide and water and zinc ar formed as the products.

E.g.

Zinc oxide + Hydrogen ➡ Zinc + Water

ZnO + H2 ➡ Zn + H2O

Hope this helps!!!!
