Answer:

(i) Height of pipe = 77cm

Inner radius of pipe = 4/2 = 2cm

Inner curved surface area = 2πrh

= 2×22/7×2×77

= 2×22×2×11

= 44×22

= 968cm²

(ii) Height of pipe = 77cm

Outer radius of pipe = 4.8/2 = 2.4cm

Outer curved surface area = 2πrh

= 2×22/7×2.4×77

= 2×22×2.4×11

= 44×26.4

= 1161.6cm²

(iii) Total surface area =

Inner CSA + Outer CSA +2π (R²- r²)

968 + 1161.6 + 2×22/7 [(2.4)² - (2)²]

2129.6 + 44/7 (5.76-4)

2129.6 + 6.28×1.76

2129.6 + 11.05

2140.65cm²
