A metal plate measuring 30 cm by 10 cm is cut up into small squares of side 5 cm. How many squares will be cut?

Area of the plate: l×b= 30×10=300sq.cm

Area of the square: s×s=5×5=25sq.cm

Thus, Sqiares that can be cut:

Area of the plate/ Area of squares

=300/25
