Explanation:

A metal sphere is electrically neutral. It is touched by a positively charged metal rod. As a result, the metal sphere becomes charged positively.

Free electrons in the sphere. Move away due to repulsion. And piles up at the other end of the sphere. The near end becomes positively charged due to deficit of electrons.

The process of charging the uncharged object by bringing another charged object near to it, but not touching it, is called charging by induction. The positive charges in the sphere get attracted towards the plastic rod and move to one end of the sphere that is closer to the plastic rod.

I hope this may help u out
