A metal wire of length 2m is having 10ohm resistance . If same wire of length 5m is
considered then what will be its resistance ?
Answers
Answer:
L is directly propotional lo r
so, L1/L2 is directly propotional to r1/r2
L1/L2=r1/r2(k)
if you take k is constant
2/5=10/x
25
(Here k=1)
Given : A metal wire of length 2m is having 10ohm resistance
To find : what will be resistance of same wire of length 5m
Solution:
R = ρ L / A
R = resistance
ρ = resistivity
L = Length
A = Cross section area
same wire hence ρ & A are same
R₁ = ρ L₁ / A
R₂ = ρ L₂ / A
=> R₁/R₂ = L₁ / L₂
R₁ = 10Ω , L₁ = 2m
R₂ = ? L₁ = 5m
=> 10/R₂ = 2/5
=> R₂ = 25 Ω
Resistance of wire of length 5 m will be 25 Ω
