Amphoteric natured metals like those lie in the p-Block of the periodic table like Al, Sn, Pb etc or that in the d-block but closest to p-Block like Zn give H2 gas with dilute HCl and NaOH as well.

Sn+2HCl=SnCl2+H2
Sn+2NaOH =Na2SnO2+H2
