A metal ‘X’ is used for making containers of dry cell. “X’ is reacts with silver nitrate solution

to form a colourless. Compound ‘Y’ and lustrous metal ‘Z’ is formed. Identify “X’ “Y’ and “z”.

Metal X is used in making dry cell. Generally Zinc is used in making dry cell . Also Zinc is more reactive than silver it can displace silver from silver nitrate. Hence X = Zinc

Now When Zinc react with Silver nitrate hence reaction will be-

The new product formed is ZnNO_3 also it is colourless Hence "Y"=ZnNO_3

Now another product formed is Ag(silver) which is also lustrous Hence "Z"= Ag

Chemical reaction involved:- Zn + AgNO₃ = Ag + ZnNO₃

 Which is more reactive X or Z:-

X is zinc and Z is Silver hence X(zinc) is more reactive.Because X lies above Z in reactivity series Z is stable than X .hence X is more reactive
