a metal x when dipped in aqueous solution of aluminium sulphate has no reaction is observed ...whereas when it is dipped in the aqueous solution of ferrous sulphate the pale green solution turns colourless .....identify the metal x and justify your ans by giving chemical equation for the reaction and also for no reaction...

The metals copper, platinum, silver gold are also less reactive when compared to hydrogen even they do not replace hydrogen from water or acid.

For Examples for metal-displacement reactions: iron from ferrous sulphate solution and Zinc can displace copper from copper sulphate solution, hence zinc is more reactive than iron and copper.

Al2 (SO4)3 + Zn ---- No reaction. FeSO4 + Zn ------------ ZnSO4 + Fe
