Answer:

Concept:

Volume of the Cuboid melted = Volume of Cube formed

Volume of Cuboid = Length × Breadth × Height

Volume of Cube = ( Edge Length ) ³

According to the question, the dimensions of the Cuboid are:

  • Length = 45 cm
  • Breadth = 15 cm
  • Height = 5 cm

⇒ Volume of the cuboid = 45 × 15 × 5 = 3375 cm³

Let the edge length of the new cube formed be 'a'

⇒ a³ = 3375 cm³

Taking Cube root on both sides we get,

⇒ a = ∛ 3375 cm³

a = 15 cm

Hence the edge length ( a ) of the new cube formed is 15 cm.

Dimension of Metallic cuboid = 45cm × 15 cm × 5cm.

Volume of cuboid = length×breadth×height

= 45×15×5

=15×15×15

Now, It melts in a cube.

volume of cube = (edge)^3

Then,

Volume of cuboid = volume of cube.

therefore, the answer is 15 cm..
