A metallic oxide, which is white, odourless crystalline powder, has a chemical formula M2O3, it is used in various chemical, industrial and commercial applications. This oxide reacts with both acids and bases. Identify the nature of the oxide.​

How I guess that.......I just focus that it's molecular farmula is M2O3. oxidation state of M is +3 .....that give you an idea that there are 80% chances that M belongs to group 13th group containing bronon , aluminium etc.

I choose Al because Al2O3 is being used at more place with acid as well as bases.

Al2O3 + HCl ----------------> AlCl3 + H2O

with bases

Al2O3 + NaOH ----------------> NaAlO2 + H2O
