\sf{\underline{We\:know\:that:}}

Length of the metallic sheet {= 48\:m}

Breadth of the metallic sheet {= 36\:m}

\sf{\underline{When:}}

A square of 8 m is out off from each corner to form an open box,

\sf{\underline{Then:}}

Length of the open box:

l = 48 \: m - 8 \: m - 8 \: m

l = 48 \: m - 16 \: m

l = 32 \: m

Breadth of the open box:

b = 36 \: m - 8 \: m - 8 \: m

b = 36 \: m - 16 \: m

b = 20 \: m

Height of the open box:

h = side of the out off square

h = 8 m

Volume of the open box:

\implies  l \times b \times h

\implies  32 \: m \times 20 \: m \times 8 \: m

\implies  32 \: m \times 160 \: m

\implies  5120 \: {m}^{3}

\sf{\underline{Thus:}}

The volume of the open box is 5120 \: {m}^{3}
