A metallic spherical shell with external diameter as 14cm has a mass of 57552/7gms. Find the thickness of the shell if the density of the metal is 9gms/cm3

density=mass/volume

let the inner radius of the shell=r

volume of the shell=(4/3)(22/7)(7^3-r^3)

9=(57552/7)/((4 /3)(22/7)(343-r^3))

343-r^3=218

r^3=343-218=125

r=5

Therefore thickness of the shell = 7-5=2cm
