A metallic wire of resistance r is cutting into 10 parts of equal length 2 pieces each are joined in series and then 5 such combinations are joined in parallel what will be the effective resistance of the combination ?

Is the metallic wire is cutted into 10 parts of resistance r therefore the new resistance of the pieces is equals to r/10
thus when two pieces are joined together then the new resistance of the pieces are 2r/10= r/5
When all such 5 pieces are connected in parallel then the net resistance of the system will be
1/R=5/r + 5/r+ 5/r+ 5/r+ 5/r= 5*5/r = 25/r
thus R = r/25 ohm
